The 'big' gourd is now 123"...woohoo. Potentially a new Canadian Record if we can get her to a weigh off site. Heavy rain last night has left the pits under the gourds full of water. I have bailed them out twice today. More rain forcast tonight ans hurricain Ivan roars through.
Warm, humid weather has spured on the growth in the pumpkin patch the last few days. The 998, day 80 today, OTT: 383"= 1175 lbs estimated weight. Brian and I both measured the beast this morning so I am confidant in the measurements. Sunny and warm all this week, should take us well over the 1200 mark. Now we will have to see if she weighs light or heavy. All things considered its been a hell of a ride. The local bench marks are Bill Greer's best 1172 and Arnold Vaders best 1193. It looks like we will beat both of these this year. Arnold has a great one going so the race is on for the County Record!
I have been very busy and was late with the last application of fungicide (18 days). There is a little PM showing up on a couple plants. Hopefully I can get it back under control.
Starting to run out of ingrediants for the compost tea (also missed the last app). No Kelp or Sea weed left, so the recipe is getting very basic.
