As my buddy Steve pushed gently back on the pumpkin, I excavated the soil from under the fruit to allow the pumpkin to settle and raise the vine/stem up. He then shaped that piece of styrofoam to fit at the base of the fruit to prevent it from rolling back forward toward the stem.
