spent the day with fighting the soft spots on my pumpkin as
good as i could!!
I m fighting since mid-august against a soft stem and soft spots on my pumpkin with scrapping, alcohol and hairdryer!
But when one spot just healed, another one occurs!
The soft spots on the stem and on the pumpkin slowed down the growth very much since mid-august!
The fact that the pumpkin is a little bit too close to the stump is also a reason for slow growth but the soft spots (due to the cool wet august) are the main reason!
I lost my 670 Jöbstl to soft spots and blossom rot, and I wanna get the 683 Riegebauer to the weigh-off!!!
So next year I have to protect my pumpkin better (from wet weather!!)
One month until harvest: I hope that I hit at least 450-500 lbs!!!!!
