Rain and cool...just about every day. Just the right conditions to rot my patch. Here's the Stidwill pumpkin, putting on 10 pounds a day, now at 400 pounds. This will be my Hopkinton fair pumpkin, if it lasts. The stem has rotted off and I've got a split in the pumkin just below the stem. I'm keeping them uncovered, trying to get them to dry up, and I've treated the problem areas with a dusting of captan. I've lost a total of 50% of this plant to phytophthora, and it continues to spread with the miseable conditions. I sprayed everything today with a double dose of Orthenex and Infuse.
