The weather has taken a turn for the worse again and the forecast for next 10 days looks even worse. Lots of cool wet days in the forecast with daytime highs in the 60's. This is early August? I picked the wrong year to put out my best effort to this point. Last week at this time I thought hitting the 1000 estimated pound mark wasn't going to be a problem. Now I'm not so sure. Most of the plants daily gains have dropped off the last few days and I believe if we get the weather as forecasted they'll drop even more. The only plant making good gains has been the 1012 Hester. Which makes me wonder what it would be doing if it were ten degrees warmer, day and night.

I plan on pollinating another fruit on the 1131* Timm tomorrow with the 1055* Pitura. So far they've all aborted. Hopefully this one will stick long enough for me to get some seeds from it. The fruit on the 1055* is still growing and seems to be doing okay. But it has a blossom end problem, its only around 150 lbs and its the only squash I have on the vine now.
