Going with advice from Tom Privitera and Don Young, I have increased the amount of Molassas in our tea to 4 cups in 30 gals and increased the brewing time to 3 days. The last batch of tea came out much thicker than before and had a slimey texture! (Slime usually means bacteria) I had a friend that works in a lab, take a sample to work to have a look at it under the microscope. She says we have lots of bacterial activity so I guess the process is working! I'm a little concerned with the brewing time being too long though and our disolved oxygen levels getting to low. I need to find a way to test this.
Day 30 today for the 1041 McKie x 998. OTT= 239" Unremarkable, but larger than most of my 30 day numbers from last year!
We pollinated our first Long Gourd last night. 125 Urena 07 x 118 Lyons 07. Ther have been a few open pollinations. We are watching very closely for flowers now.
Sprayed the Tomatoes, watermelons and LG's with 1% solution 6-18-6 Performance Booster, hopefully to boost flower production. I also drenched the tomatoes on Monday night with 2L each 10-52-10 water soluable solution.
Sprayed Pumpkins, squash, melons, cabbage, and LG's with Calcium, Humic Acid cocktail at 1% solution along with a half percent Potassium Carbonate.
