Had to do some patch work on the pumpkins today. 1149 Pukos pumpkin is wanting to grow on it's stem and a very short stem at that. We pulled some more tap roots today and adjusted the mill fabric so it's under the main vine. We also put some sand under neath the main vine to raise the pumpkin so it won't grow on the main vine. Will probably prop the main vine up with styrofoam as it grows upward.

Also had to do some adjusting the mill fabric under the Wallace plant tonight and adjust the pumpkin as it's not growing nice and straight, it's coming in at a very bad angle. The best part about it is it's growing flat like a pancake and not round. We're keeping the pumpkin away from the main vine and had to cut a path of leaves into the pumpkin. Whew! I think we have the dangers under control. Kinda scary when your holding a pumpkin so you can raise the main vine. I think it will be ok for the season, will have to keep an eye on the pumpkin to make sure it doesn't grow in the wrong direction.

Oh and killed an SVB today in one of the vines on the 1423 Wallace plant. I hope that's all of them. I think he was dead already, but we made sure he was good and dead.
