did the scariest deed of them all.....the shoulder clearance slide. the mill fabric makes it so much easier than styrofome. loosened up all tap roots on main and opposite side secondaries, and gave all 3 a good slide back. i have nice s curves in all 3, but i always know if i can make a lttle more room now when i can still move them, the better clearance i will have come 20 days from now. cosmo was the toughest cuz he is too big to reach around with arms and pull back. i had to get on top and wiggle him a little left and back and then right and back and repeat the process. gained at least 2 inches clearance on all 3 pumpkins without hiccups. it is nerve wracking indeed, but with more experience it becomes less and less freaky. clearance on cosmo will be the most needed seeing its a blocky mofo and wider than longer. georgie and newman are longer than wider as of now. day 4 on the 5 lober at 31' on the 997 looks promising. today i put mill fabric under it and hopefully it will get the hint and abide my wishful thinking. if she makes it past basketball size without aborting, she will be called "elaine" for this plant with female issues. this would complete the cast and i would become jerry. "Why do people keep asking, do you turn or roll your pumpkins when obviously they are to big to turn? What is the deal with that? And what about steriods? How many people are going to say, what do you feed that thing, steriods? Like my pumpkins are like bucket head barry bonds. And what is the deal with milk and pumpkins? Why do people always tell you to feed them milk? Do i tell them to give fish emulsion and seaweed extract to their damn kids? I tell ya."
