I was cutting my lawn on monday, thrilled with a couple of recent pollinations when I tripped over the garden edging and fell backwards into my glass greenhouse/hothouse. I knew that I was injured when I saw the blood spurting from my wrist. Fortunately my neighbour was home, came out to check and immediately called 911 for me while I applied pressure to stem the flow.

At the emergency they temporarily stiched up the wound and advised me that I would need the services of a plastic surgeon to hopefully repair damage to some severed tendons and an artery and to close it up properly. Today I had surgery to repair the damage and was told not to use my left arm for 6 to 8 weeks while it repaired.

My wife immediately said "don't worry hunny, I'll pick up the slack in the pumpkin patch for you"....wow...what a doll!!

Say what you will about the Canadian medical system, but when you have an injury that requires attention right away, you get to skip the line-up and go right to the front to get it done and for that I am thankfull.

More pictures from the patch soon.
