My inexpert theory is that there was too high a sodium content in the manure. The spring manure was supposedly "aged" but I am now doubtful of that. When I got the soil test results back I ran a sprinkler in the two affected hoops for 3 hours. Today I plan on finally burying those vines with some homegrown compost with hopes that it will help and then I'll run the sprinkler again.
