just got done whacking a beautiful plant, and it was 997 shenoha #2. the 1306 won the spot by almost catching up 2 feet in vine length in 3 days. she ain't stunted no more. wow. so the line up is set finally and the plants are looking pretty good. lost one leaf on the 1446 from the hellacious winds all day yesterday. in snapped off and has been removed. a couple of leaves on almost every plant lost some backbones for lack of better words. they got beat up in the wind and fold over basically but are still ok. they just lost their ability from here on out to cup upwards to the sky. no biggie cuz i am just glad they didn't roll on me. took off the compost from the vines today at the advice of a solid bro grower named "the boz". thanks brooks for the heads up on the advice on the damage that straight compost can do to the vines. never tried it before this year but i had some left over in a pile and figured it would be a good thing. the boz saved me a major headache and disappointment for this season and i owe him big time. i won an 805 in a drawing this spring after the season started and i know he loves the 805, so now you have another 805 coming your way this winter boz. grow it, trade it, use it in a seed auction if you want, but the season saving advice is worth more that any seed in my eyes. thanks again, and everyone out east of illinois, watch out for this crazy wind coming your way.
