Yesterday was planting day, or last night after work anyway. The weather here is pretty good for setting out right now. All plants went in the ground. 998 Pukos, 1041 McKie, 772 Poirier, 943 Vincent-McGill, 1055* pitura, 995* Vincent-McGill and 824 Brunst. All plants look excellent. The 722* has slightly odd growth at the growing point. It may develope into a ribbon. It is still very cold at nights here. The temp inside the hoops got down to 45F last night. The soil temp got down to 58F. The planting holes were treated with a handful each of Biogro Endo plus, Jumpstart, Humic Acid and a couple hands full of Kelp. After planting the seedlings were drenched with 2 L each of 1% fish solution. The 824 Brunst is a very nice plant, but is planted in a very poor spot. This spot has never been amended. I added about 2 yards of composted sheep manure this spring along with the same humic acid and kelp treatments as the other areas. When we dug the planting pit, we hit hard platy clay at about 8". We dug it all out, down about a foot and replaced with a nice mixture of good top soil, manure and peat moss. I fear this plant will suffer greatly from the conditions. I really wanted the 824 for genetics anyway. I don't really expect great things from her.
