after a little more research on double vines, i am not as committed to going with my back up 997 as i was about 15 minutes ago. i see that that trait most likely came from the 1370. someone else had their 1370 double straighten itself on its own. i have plenty of time to make the decision to let it try on its own to work itself out or do the surgery. one of the lucky things that happened after planting it was the fact that it was one of those twisters-- the plants when you put them in straight and 2 days after planting they twist in a different direction. it twisted opposite of the back up plant about an 1/8th of a circle. this will give me that much more time to let it grow out or perform the surgery. i will start taking some pics and i am going out to give it a good steady long soaking. from what i have read, this works in some cases for some weird reason. i got plenty of time and a back up, so what the hell.
