The Nursery by my house tells the locals that we can tell when our last frost is over when the pin oak and the scarlet oaks break dormancy. Both my pin oak and scarlet oak are getting leaves. I am still waiting on the two pumpkins I planted direstly in the soil after they geminated. They still have not popped out of the ground. The weather seems warm enough. 70-90+ this last week. Nights have dropped in the 50's. Is that to cold? I have corn that think it is warm enough. We have so much to learn.
