Hello from windy CA high desert (Phelan). This is phase one of my first year growing giant pumpkins. This part of my yard has some of my best soil. The manure from up hill had blown to this patch of soil for many years. The natural soil is a sandy loam if it has not been blown away. The top soil is deepest here.
