Okay here's where things get weird. It's day 40 for both the 434 and this pumpkin, grown on the 1101. I documented in my diary that this pumpkin split over a week ago at 112 inches cc. Yet on Sunday August 4 the pumpkin taped at 117 inches circ. And today the measurements are 123-80-77, 280 OTT = 467 lbs. I stuck a bamboo stake 18 inches into the pumpkin after it split so no doubt that the split is into the cavity. Why does the pumpkin continue to grow?? Perhaps I will get some viable seeds from this 1101 Northrup x 500 Northrup cross after all.
