Well one week to weigh-off and I have been told the cat is out of the bag, my friend went through Smoky Lake from visiting friends at Cold Lake Alberta and he ran into other pumpkin growers and proceeded to tell them of the giant coming from Saskatchewan that would take the weigh-off, actually you might remember of the 635 Paynter I planted at another location earlier this year...
That plant has done quite well and holds the fruit (which me and the friend named "Jack") that we will be taking to the weigh-offs in Smoky Lake. Since he has already begun to talk I might as well post his stats...
Circumference = 173" SS= 101.5 SB = 103 OTT= 377.5 or 1030lbs
I actually wanted to see the look on people's faces when we unloaded the monster but as I understand it very few from that weigh-off come onto this site so we will still turns some heads. As for lifting and transporting the fruit we have aquired a fork lift to come and load it in to my friends cube van from the greenhouse we will be taking.
Along with about 12 guys who will be there to help put "Jack" onto the skid, and of course afterwards we'll sit down to a couple of cases of beer....
