Provision made for the fruit at 24 feet out! Bent 8 foot of the main vine into a dogleg, making the very short stem not a future challenge. I've seen this done before and its the first time I have tried it. It was suprisingly easy in the heat of the day! Lets hope this young fruit can grow decently, and I will gradually cull the 14 foot pumpkin. It measures 16" circ on day 6 and is a very long fruit. A 5 lober self pollinated. I will wait till day 10 before I get the knife out. If it ends up aborting I will still have the 14 footer. Enough rambling....
