This is the 700 Paynter (thanks Peter for the correction, not 701)today just before I turned it some more, probably another couple days and it will be heading due west. Plant has just nicely started it's vigorous vegitation growth however will probably terminate using N after this weeks feed and switch to 20-20-20. Got tons of male blossoms forming no females yet, plant is at about four feet out from the stump so I hope in the next week I can at least get about 5-7 ft. of more vine growth that would put me right at mark for 10ft. for fruit set. I also hope to see a female form in the next three days and that would put me in the prime for pollination date start. Fingers crossed.
It was extremely hot here today got up to 34 degress and no wind or clouds, was out all afternoon so plant went without a mist till about four o'clock. the newest two leaves suffered burns at the edge that was touching the ground when it was wilting. Ground has dried out allot so I dumped 50 gallons through the soaker hose on the east side of the patch. probably will have to step up watering to about 50 gallons a day until this heat lets up.
