Let the 2005 season begin! Goal for this year is to grow a pumpkin big enough to make Alex look small in comparison! A 400 pounder will be large enough. The patch is still full of weeds now. Will add a 6 yards of year old chicken manure before turning in with a bobcat. That will be the only preparation at the last minute. Not expecting a monster this year, but you never know! Planning on growing 2 plants, though I might squeeze in a 3rd.

I also saw Colin out at Castlereagh today. He is going to plant about 30 979's, and take care of the strongest 3 or 4. I probably won't be able to help myself from stopping by occasionally to check it out. It will be interesting to see 30 of the same seed grown side by side!
Once again hopefully my diary will be of interest as winter desecends upon the northern part of the globe!
