As for my own season, I'm afraid I fell far short of what I'd planned. I created a schedule that I followed to a T and was pollinating three weeks ahead of last year on substantially larger, healthier plants. Still, sometimes things just don't go your way; such was the case of my 2388.5 Liggett. It seems the seed I planted is genetically predisposed to producing mushroom-shaped pumpkins. After a battle with a stem split, Inimitable 1.0 succumbed to a stem split late-July at 408 lbs est. I think it would have gone much heavier to chart, because when I finally cut it up the shoulders of the fruit were roughly 12-14 inches thick. The blossom end, by comparison, was terribly thin yet held together. I've since let the plant go, and every fruit on it is exhibiting the same mushroom-shaped pumpkins. On a brighter note, a sibling 2388.5 Liggett seed I gave to a friend has produced an orange, nicely rounded fruit, so I'm living vicariously through him!
