23.4 kg (51.6 lbs) Moon & Stars x 276 McCaslin - Harvested!
Harvest update on my F1 cross: Moon & Stars (long, yellow) x 276 McCaslin.
Today the melon was cut from the vine and tipped the scales at 23.4 kg (51.6 lbs)!
It progressed from 10 kg on July 28 to 15.05 kg on August 3, finally finishing at a very respectable 23.4 kg. The exterior kept those beautiful 276 McCaslin stripes until the very end.
Next step: slicing it open to check the flesh color and flavor, and collecting a good batch of F2 seeds for future patch experiments. Happy growing to all!
