Future sauce / sundried tomatoes. From total failure to total success. Bugs ate all 30 plants the first time I planted here. This time they left all 30 alone. The only difference is I let the transplants get bigger by a few inches. The bugs are lazy and dont want to crawl an extra 2-3 inches to get their meal. No pesticides needed.

Also the last six or 8 plants were bare root. I thought for sure they would wilt (and maybe die) because it's hot as heck in this spot but they neither wilted nor died. I took minimal care of them. I would never have guessed they'd handle it so well. Just goes to show you can never make assumptions, always better to try than to assume.
