I pulled my 421 as it had taken the brunt of the May monsoons and was pretty stunted and under performing. So I started a couple of my 404 seeds very late and put them in the ground on July 1. Maybe that could be a new contest. Who can get the biggest pumpkin starting in July. I hope to get a couple of sellable pumpkins and the cross should be an orange one. It was the opposite cross of the same year I grew the 839. So it's the 1665 McDonald x 1885 Werner. It's easy to see how starting in warm weather speeds up the growth rate.
