Again missed a bit on the end (blue oval, bottom left)... I could have pollinated a few more lbs on this massive boat of a tomato! Why am I not being careful enough? Those few lbs could be the difference between an 8 and 11 lb tomato! Well, is it hard to pull every little bit of blossom away in order to see where exactly to drop the pollen? Not really. Yes, its a bit tedious to do a perfect job of pollinating but... there's just no excuse! I must do better.
Top left: this one was a nice chunk but I watered in some potassium this morning and sure enough it already has BER. Guessing a lot of growers don't realize how much the combo of water + potassium intereferes with the uptake of calcium. There is another older tomato on this plant which I want to push a bit, hence I added the water and potassium even though I knew this might happen to this nice younger tomato.
