Sunday Funnies. Nice light reading in the eastern standard time zone at 5 am this morning. Came across a 2023 study that seams to throw my best published work “A Trip Up The Calcium Highway” into the Dark Ages. Says that shortage's in uptake of Nitrogen Limits post anthesis mater growth in high heat events. Ah yes the stove and vent pipe theory first presented at the GPC convention in 2014. Stated high heat caused elevated respiration rates that lowered or affected root zone Ca uptake rates during excessive demand caused by climatic induced events. Thusly Exacerbated by ammonium nitrate competing blocking uptake of macro/micros like Ca. Rewrite might be in order. For certain we have all found heat accelerates the rush to death. Problem here is in under standing Nitrate and Ammonium. Nitrate good but it’s not that Ammonium is all bad. It’s a competing Cation in the soil with micro nutrients like Ca. So the focal point is next year is to always make sure a grower ensures adequate N is available pre the climatic heat event. Yeah Game plan is get all your players in the stadium on the field and trained well before the game starts.
