Sunny and 60*F means it’s patch time. This morning rushed out to buy Vermiculite, Peat Moss and Sand. Hand dug about 400sq. ft. today. Needed the workout. Spread Organic M/G shake & feed with kelp and worm castings. Watered in with original Mrs Buttersworth about 6 or 7 ounces per gallon with a double strength mix of WOW powder HA. Also in the spray mix is Katyayani bio compost activator.

So then quickly started Applying a Joe Jutras lesson learned from him years ago. See in 2005 or so after Another miserable year of splitsville I had really good growth rates but nothing to show for it on the scale. Joe visited my home patch while on a GVGO tour. He looked at me and very obviously said Russ what about sand. Ok then, Roy and I in brought 6 yards each of Sand and Quad Mix per 1000 put in weeping tile and the next year we were at 400 plus inches. Went from Clay loam to Sandy loam in six hours on two patches. True story. Today it’s manual labour. Fit bit, heart pumping, dirt encrusted, hand shovelling exercise.
