My 839 seed looks to be a good one. I wish I had a bigger plant. The main vine does have a section on it I am powdering and keeping dry. Growth has slowed way down but still increasing. How can you go wrong with the orange gene of the 1885 werner and I crossed it with the 1665 McDonald which was a orange beauty itself. This one will be perfect for the little ones to sit in for a pumpkin picture. It is a stunning orange. I think the divot is the result of the deformed blossom that I went with. One needs to pay more attention to the blossom that you choose to grow out. I would like to see some other pics of funky blossoms that were grown out and the pumpkins that they produced. I did send a few of these seeds out to some top notch growers. I would like to see what the 839 would do given optimum conditions. Hopefully someone else grew it this year.
