very disappointing week for all the pumpkins. This is a graph showing the circumference by days after pollination for my 3 biggest ever compared to the 1872 Sippel. The 1872 fell off the pace for my personal best. I am still hopeful for 1000 pounds but not super confident in it. All of the other pumpkins fell off even worse. Probably not even going to make 500 with any of them. I really think that missing my pollination target in the middle of June was costly. first of all the days are now getting shorter so we have less photosynthesis going on than we would have during the peak growing age of the pumpkins and secondly the plants are a couple weeks older and more beat down than they should be during the peak growing age.
