1885.5 DeBacco ’20 (F: Outdoor 1989.5 dmg Daletas ’17 x self) OTT = 440.0” and 5% heavy

A new personal best!

It is also nice to see an orange pumpkin off of the 1989.5 dmg Daletas which does happen every once in a while.

This pumpkin presented many challenges over the course of the season so it was very reward to not only get the pumpkin to the scale but also have it set a new personal best. Some of the challenges included…
-Main vine breaking prior to pollination just past the pumpkin which result in this being the only shot at getting a pumpkin on the plant.
-Pumpkin growing on a hill causing in part the odd shape.
-Stem curling under the pumpkin (resulting in moving the plywood and digging a hole.
-Potential calcium deficiency that was corrected but cause some initial worrying cracking, but these healed over after application of a Cal-Mag product.
-Loss of a little attention when the indoor plant went down

*But in the end the challenges were overcome with a new Personal Best!
