We have had heavy rain and low temps the past few days.
I've had the pumpkins covered under a blanket and wrapped in a tarp. Sand is slightly damp, but low moisture.

Removed the tarp covering this morning to let it breath, blanket is still on in the cold weather.
Noticed this large split on the blossom end. First that I have encountered while growing.

I did not get to measure yet, but I imagine that both pumpkins took in a lot of water. I was hoping that being on the same plant, they split the uptake enough to avoid issues like this.
Doesn't appear to go deep, and is further away from the blossom.
