Seems like the good ones always get a leak. My son thought that it looked a little wet near the stump on Thursday. I was not sure because we had rain a few days earlier and the patch was still wet. Well, we checked it again Friday afternoon and it was definitely leaking. I carefully pulled all the dirt back with a spoon. I sliced it open with my fillet knife. To my surprise, the interior of the stump was green and solid, no issue with any rot. It was leaking where a root joined the stump. It was loose from rot starting so i pulled it off. I caught this early enough that i think i will be fine. I squirted peroxide solution on it and have a fan going now to dry the inside.
