This time last year the stump was a tangled mess of vines and shoots and rot had set in. This year I've kept the whole area open, clear and dry and I've had a fan on the stump 24/7. The stump and vine aren't as thick as I'd want to be but the important thing is there is no sign of rot (so far) and overall the plant appears healthy.
