Picture of the 979 DMG cut in half. Very thick around the stem, over 9"! The blossom had a small internal crack with flesh down to 2", other wise average 6" walls. Wasn't a pleasant task getting out the seeds, it had a good count over 600, but unfortunately around 100 had spoiled. About 500 left, plenty to share around. Should be a good cross, and grow big ugly pumpkins!

979 was 1% heavy, pollintor plant fruit(556.6 UOW)went 3.8% heavy.
As I reflect on the result I am happy! The heaviest fruit ever in the southern hemisphere! Not bad! Bring on next season!
