This is why I don't cut the side branches off the tomato plants anymore. The first truss of each side branch has the same potential to grow a large megabloom just like the main stem, except the plant and root system are farther along. My largest come from these. The main plant is to the right and the side branches are as large or larger than the main stem. This one is from the 7.10 Foss. Once it is pollinated and starts growing I will cut the tips off each branch and top of plant. Later in the season, like the last half of August, tertiary branches will grow which leads to more megablooms for the Fall weigh-offs.
