Did I Make the Right Decision?
After seeing the splits which looked deep and concerning (see previous post) after I removed the pumpkin and looked at the cut away of the stem I am wondering if I made the correct decision. As you can see in the image the stem cross section does not look like there was that much restricting the flow from the splits.
While there is no way to tell if I made the best decision or not, I can say that early stem splits are less of a concern to me in the future based on what I have seen with this pumpkin.
There is something to learn each year.
