And we have our first matured materkin! These things are just comical. Type of eggplant that is more commonly called �pumpkin on a stick�, they can be plucked and given as �pumpkin party favors� or cut a whole branch, remove the thorny leaves, and spice up your fall floral bouquets. The skin and fruit are rather firm, not at all like a ripe tomato, so they travel and store well. Might be my favorite plants in the garden this year :)
