Crown Protection

Keeping the initial plant site dry helps reduce the chance of rotting, especially since there are over head misters running for cooling. This is a PVC structure that supports a clear glass sheet that is held in place by bungee cords. The clear glass not only allows for easy inspection it also provides sunlight penetration which can also help reduce the chance of issues.

While one is placed at the crown it is good to have a few back-ups/extras in case there is an area that would benefit from being kept dry.

This image is looking from the initial plant site down the main vine of my Outdoor 1989.5 dmg Daletas ’17 with the pumpkin in the distance, but I have the same set-up for my Indoor plant.
