We may call this lantern �infinity� or �3 and 8�. Eyes: a horizontal �8�, the sign of infinity. Nose: a combination of �8-and-3�, an 8 with 3 loops. Both of them are chiral (and show the same chirality), as a sign of life or chemistry, or maybe both. In the mouth the motif of the nose appears as 8 of those �8-and-3�-combinations knitted into one another (all of them showing the same chirality). This mouth also reflects infinity (it�s like a belt around the whole lantern face), with 3 x 3 x 8 (= 72) shining lights (in addition to the other 3 lights of eyes and nose). Furthermore, each �8-and-3�-motif of the mouth resembles a double ouroboros (two snakes biting into each other�s tails), once again a sign of infinity (in addition to various other things an ouroboros reflects). �that said, it took about 3 hours to carve this pumpkin.
