This is another change over last year. My kin sit on 1” high density insulation board, underneath that is 3”4 in 4’ x 4’ pressure treated plywood both of those layers have holes drilled for drainage. under that is the same plastic sheeting I used for my overhead covers. The plastic sheeting prevents the plywood from cupping. I drilled holes in the two front corners and attached galvanized steel cable. By the way I’m going to redesign that I don’t like the bolt heads. Anyway, I’ve done away with the extremely nervousness of wrapping straps around the back of the kin. I use a come along and move the whole sheet forward to remove stress on the vine and stem. Therefore the pumpkin doesn’t have to drag along the sand bed.
