I have this theory. In the past my patch has produced a surprising percentage of less than perfect to downright ugly female flowers.. I've passed up many a main vine pollination because of this. For the last two years, I have been focusing on correcting micro nutrient levels. Since then, most of the female flowers are nicely shaped. Like these.
