I pulled out my stash of carrot seeds. Thinking about it, i sent an email off to Aphis, USDA to inquire when I will receive my seeds from last year. For all I know they are still playing ping pong between Opa Locka and Miami. Tentative launch of GiantCarrot.com is winter of 2019/2020. I will need seeds for this. As biennial plant will have to start them this year. I have both Fortey and Medwyn seeds from multiple years, including sister seeds of the current world record. I am not going to keep them separate..all the same variety. Planning on starting 150 plants...top 50 will be vernalized. Trying to pick start date...If I start now..could have 5 pound carrots to store by fall, not enough cooler space for that. Maybe it will be a 4th of July start.
