Is this my dear Elphaba? This morning I havenŽt been at home, therefore this was an open pollination. However, sheŽs a beauty and in a perfect position (main vine somewhere at 13 ft). It would be my earliest pollination ever, but the plant is doing fine, it has at least 16 secondaries between stump and fruit which may be retained while the fruit grows, and I know that every day counts (in 2014 we#ve had an early start of fall in the middle of August), and the next decent female will open in 4 or 5 days, I guess. So if this one takes, IŽll go with growing this open pollinated one for weight, and for genetics IŽll perhaps grow a selfed one on a secondary. Time will tell...
