50 cu yards of top soil brought in today. I have had a soil expert working on mixing the perfect blend for the past two months. He has reviewed all the soil samples from this site, been given a copy of Joe Ailts book, not to mention his education and years of experience. Preliminary test look good..nice sandy loam, 12.8 om, 6.7 ph very high in p and k. Tomorrow will send in a sample to western labs to see what needs to be tweaked. No more trying to grow competitive in 6 to 7 inches of alkaline top soil over pure sand for me. If everything tests out good I might bring in another 50 cu yds next october. That would give about 20 inches of depth. I may not grow big this year but I am excited about next year.
