LanTerra Update > Need a few drops of rain as a dry front passes last night. Good news is both 108 Lyons 16, 81 Wolf x 162 McCoy plants are doing well. These are late starters so not much expectation... Hope to pollinate in a week or so...
Third fungicide treatment is today with a sulphur spray. Late blight is in the area so they are getting regular does of Phosphites. Back in 2014 I lost all my maters to blight. So its kind of an important deal to control the mildews...
Drenched all competition plants this morning with Phosphoric Acid to adjust the irrigation waters pH below 5.5. Added in maple syrup at 1oz per gallon. Phosphoric acid is used to lower irrigation pH as it helps to break Macro/Micro Nutrient tie up issues in the soil. So this treatment will ensure I have maximum solubility of Calcium and Boron in the soil. The irrigation water here at LanTerra is around 6.8 to 7.00 so Calcium Bi-Carbonate salt build up is not huge here.
