It has been a rough start to the 2017 pumpkin season. Both 2096's are now above ground. The one on the right had the smashed seed. Only about a third of each cot leaf is still there. The one on the left was not doing much. I dug down and discovered some signs of rot with the seed underground. After some careful surgery with shell removal etc..it is starting to look better now that it has some light. Hopefully one the seeds will show their genetic potential by about first true leaf. In the last few days have also tried to start two 2252 Patons, a 1916 Barron, a 1929.5 Barlow(my new top choice for the 150 plant) and a few of my 719 orange seeds. Depending on germination rates I may try to start a few more for my four spots.
