Late start this year. 3rd year growing AGs. Took a couple years off when I moved. First year (2011) grew several 70-90 lb pumpkins with almost no care to the plants. 2012 got serious, got some champion seed from P and P Seed, and with some advice from Don Langevin's Books, began a serious growing program. All pollinations that year failed. 2013 we were trying to sell our house, so I put the pumpkin patch in grass. 2014 and 2015 we were in transition to our new home, so no growing. Almost missed out on 2016 till I heard my folks talking about a friendly growing competition. Started 5 seeds outdoors this year on June 7 in a fine patch of newly turned over old pasture ground. The first sprout emerged 6 days later and started growing explosively. The first fruit was pollinated a bit over 10 foot out, and here she is growing at 41 days after pollination. This beauty is growing from seed from my 90lb AG grown in 2011. OTT estimates put it at 111# on September 1. Definitely not a world record pumpkin, but none the less a personal best. Maybe enough to take our "local" contest.
