I decided to cull the first pumpkin on my lone plant today. It was day 12 today for it, and it's circ. was 19.5" I thought about just cutting half way through the stem, and finishing it tomorrow. But what the heck, I cut it off completely today. I figured it wasn't growing very fast anyway, so hopefully the sets further down will be O.K. if they get extra "juice". I've got two open pollinations further down the main vine. They were pollinated on July 12 and 16. Both seem to be growing for now. I like the early shape of the second pollination(oval), better than the one I culled, which was roundish.
