I made the delicate cuts needed to remove the remaining leaf stem. Finally, I am slowly able to move the fruit away from the main vine. I have added a larger shade cover and worked on securing the cover based on the wind loading. I also cut the anchored roots under the leaf nodes before and after the fruit and added Styrofoam to lift the vine and stem. Doing this has also provided a benefit in allowing me more ability to move the fruit away from the main vine. Today, the sun intensity was just too much. I placed my wet sweatshirt across my fruit to keep her cool. I am noticing that my shade cover is most effective in the pm hours, but not large enough during the late morning hours.
