Making a cloche to set the plants early is super important. A good chance they wouldn't make it if planted around May 3rd in our area. My method is 40 inch pieces of 1/2 " rebar pounded into the ground 2 ft apart and then inserting 1/2 inch PVC pipe over them. This takes 5 minutes and it can be taken down faster. Also, can be reused forever.
